Booking an appointment

Booking through this site reserves a four-hour arrival window (morning, midday, afternoon or evening). The evening before your visit we narrow it to a two-hour arrival window and text it to you, and on the day you get a live map when the technician is on the way. We will do everything we can to arrive inside that window; traffic, an earlier job running long, or weather can occasionally push it, and we will text you if that happens. No payment is taken at the time of booking.

Diagnostic fee

A diagnostic fee is charged at the visit for the technician’s time to inspect, test and diagnose your appliance and provide a written quote. If you approve the recommended repair, the diagnostic fee is credited in full toward the repair total, whatever the size of the repair. The credit is shown on the quote before you approve. If you decline the repair, the diagnostic fee is all you pay, and the written findings are yours to keep.

When you book online, the diagnostic fee is charged to your card at the time of booking and your confirmation is your receipt; there is nothing to pay at the door. When you book by phone, the fee is paid at the visit by card, cash or check. If we cancel the visit, or you cancel it with the notice set out below, the fee is refunded in full to the card it was paid with.

The fee shown on the booking page at the time you book is the fee that applies. Commercial premises, same-day rush requests and additional appliances inspected on the same visit are priced separately and shown before you confirm.

Quotes and authorization

No repair work begins until you approve the quote. Quotes are flat-rate by the job, itemized into parts and labor, and remain valid for 7 days from the date they are sent. If the technician discovers additional faults after work starts, they will stop and send a revised quote for your approval before continuing.

Warranty

Completed repairs carry a 90-day warranty on our labor for the specific fault repaired. If the same fault returns within that period we return at no charge — no callback fee and no second diagnostic. Parts we supply carry whatever warranty their manufacturer provides, which we will tell you at the time of the quote. The warranty does not cover new and unrelated faults, damage from misuse, power surges, pest damage, or work performed on the appliance by anyone else after our visit.

Parts

If a part must be ordered, we will tell you the expected arrival date and schedule the return visit as soon as it lands. Special-order parts may be non-returnable; the technician will tell you before ordering if that applies.

Cancellation, rescheduling and your card on file

When you book online, the diagnostic fee is charged to your card at booking, and the card is kept on file. Nothing else is charged when you book. The card is stored by our payment processor, Stripe; we never see the number. It is used only as set out here, or to pay for a repair you approve.

Reschedule free of charge at any time before your arrival window opens; the fee you paid carries over to the new visit. Cancel with 24 hours’ notice or more, by replying to your confirmation message or calling us, and the diagnostic fee is refunded in full. Canceling with less than 24 hours’ notice is also refunded, but may be charged a $35.00 late-cancellation fee. If nobody aged 18 or over is home, or we cannot get to the appliance, when the technician arrives inside the window, the $79.00 diagnostic fee may be kept for the trip (or charged, if it was not paid at booking). A fee is charged to the card on file, you are told in writing at the time, and we will always consider a first-time or unavoidable miss on its merits — just reply to the message.

Commercial accounts on agreed terms are billed on the account and do not save a card. You can ask us to remove a saved card at any time once you have no open appointment.

Access and safety

Please make sure the appliance is accessible and the area around it is clear, and that an adult aged 18 or over is present for the visit. Our technicians may decline to work in conditions that are unsafe — gas leaks, live water on electrics, or unsafe structural access — and will explain why.

Appliances beyond economic repair

If the cost to repair approaches or exceeds the value of the appliance, the technician will tell you plainly and recommend replacement instead. You still pay only the diagnostic fee.

Payment

Payment is due on completion, by the card on file, another card, contactless, or a payment link sent to your phone. Approved commercial accounts may be invoiced on agreed terms.

Limitation of liability

Our liability for any claim arising from a repair is limited to the amount you paid for that repair, except where the law does not allow that limit. Nothing here removes rights you have under consumer protection law.
